I absolutely love pumpkin painting with my kids during Halloween. Thing is, I don’t have the skills to paint and come up with a spooky looking pumpkin.
Until one day, I decided to browse online and look for some ideas for our pumpkin painting, and I came across a guide by Jo Anne Westcott called Easy Pumpkin Painting, Jo Anne sells a guide on how to do pumpkin painting and includes other information that you need to know about this craft.
At first, I was hesitant into buying such guide for I thought I can just browse online for tips about pumpkin painting. Well, after several attempts into creating my first pumpkin masterpiece, I gave up. The information I have gathered online are just too difficult to follow and none of them have done me any good.
I was so glad that I decided to order the short, but comprehensible and easy to follow guide called the “Pumpkin Painting, Anyone Can Do It. Really!”, from Easy Pumpkin Painting’s website. My kids are so happy that we were able to finally come up with great and exciting pumpkin masterpieces to complete our Halloween celebration. It is definitely so easy to follow, especially for someone like me who does not have that much creativity skills and painting skills into coming up with a beautiful Halloween pumpkin. My kids can even follow through the step by step guide and create their own mini-pumpkin masterpieces, too!
So here’s what you can get out of Jo Ann’s guide.
• Step by Step guide that comes with stunning photos that could help you to fully understand the process.
• Pictures of 18 beautiful Halloween Pumpkins and designs that are so easy to make – can be finished in less than an hour!
• Guide into achieving a hundred different Pumpkin looks by mixing and matching the pumpkin’s eyes, nose and mouths.
• Instructions on how to come up with the basic supplies and materials that you need in order to get started with your pumpkin painting, without really spending a lot.
• The author’s secrets on how to make pumpkin painting so enjoyable and so easy to do.
Through this guide, you will discover that even those common things around your house can be used into coming up with a beautiful Halloween pumpkin masterpiece. Perhaps, the only thing I can comment about is the 18 sample pictures of the Halloween pumpkins, which for me, is just not enough. There are several other beautiful pumpkins with modern designs that are in the Internet now, and it might be a good idea if they could include these pumpkin designs, too.
And while the guide is truly effective, it literally comes with a price. But a small price for what you will learn about pumpkin painting, and some of the materials needed to create some of the most beautiful Halloween pumpkin designs will cost a little. It would probably be great if they could look for alternative sources that would not cost you to spend.
But overall, I highly recommend such a guide for first time pumpkin crafters, and for Halloween pumpkin enthusiasts who want to hone their knowledge on this craft. So be sure to checkout Jo Ann’s Easy Pumpkin Painting guide and come back here to post your comments about it. I’d love to hear your feedback on her guide.
Best of Luck,
Julie

Pumpkin Painting
Pumpkin Spider
Start by cutting out your pumpkin from top to bottom, in order to make it flat. Afterwards, paint the pumpkin in black and make use of a white colored paint for the mouth and eyes. You can make use of black pompoms for the eyes and perhaps, purple pompoms for the nose. For the legs of your spider pumpkin, make use of a cord, something that is being used on embroidery, which they call as the chenille fabric. Bend it and attach right into the pumpkin, and make it look like a long legged spider, which your kids will surely love!
Pumpkin Silhouette
For this pumpkin painting craft, make use of your drawing skills and come up with a face of a ghost or a bat. If you don’t have skills in drawing, then make use of some stencils as your guide in order to complete the task easily. Cut this face out from the pumpkin and paint your pumpkin all in white, while the silhouette should be in black. Afterwards, put on some varnish paint to make your pumpkin shine and look better. Surround the pumpkin with a black lace and embellish some pins that have white heads. Be very creative and come up with several other pumpkin faces using some stencils as your guide.
Pumpkin Pinocchio
This pumpkin painting would require you to be a bit imaginative and requires some effort to make your pumpkin become a crowd-pleaser. So to begin with, look for a pumpkin which does not sit well, like some other pumpkins do, because you will need the stem of that pumpkin for its nose. Paint the stem in red and prime the pumpkin’s surface with a sealer. Paint the eyes with white and black, and it should be somewhere near the pumpkin’s stem. For the hair, make use of olive green, and this will have to be right above the eye area. Dress your pumpkin Pinocchio with a hat in order to look awesome and attractive to kids.
Well there you have it, some really great tips on pumpkin painting and dressing up your pumpkin. All in all I think these tips will have your pumpkins looking awesome, and your family, neighbors and friends will just love them.
